Big Bend National Park - Weather

Summer in Big Bend is intensely hot and intensely dry and it's best to avoid these summer months if possible (unless you're rafting). August is the least intense, if you can't avoid it. October to November and March and April are the best months to visit. The temperatures are gentler, birds and flowers are out in the spring, and Rio Grande water levels are great in the fall.
