Fair Park

Fair Park is a National Historic Landmark and a small entertainment city in itself, even when it's not hosting the State Fair of Texas. Of course, when it is hosting that fair, it's home to the Texas Star, largest ferris wheel in North America, and Big Tex, that talking 49-foot statue. When it isn't State-Fairing, it's home to the Cotton Bowl stadium (completely related to the football game of the same name), and the friezed, art deco Hall of State, dedicated wholly to Texas history. The latter was built in the Great Depression for the Texas Centennial Expo.
