This is an intensely popular museum, not only the most visited museum in Texas, but one of the top five in the nation. "Natural History" may not sound very exciting, but these are fascinating exhibits presented in an engaging way. The Lester and Sue Smith Gem Vault is just one of these, a hall of masterpieces of jewelry, a perfect counterpoint to the excellent raw gem exhibit.
