The Central Coast is not "attraction-rich" in the way that large cities in Texas can be. Galleries are easy to find, as are small museums celebrating local history or art. The Center for the Arts and Science in Clute has a nicely broad scope and serves as a venue for live theater as well. But the real draw of the Central Coast is its untouched natural glory. The Aransas National Wildlife Refuge is famous all over the world as home to the largest Whooping Crane flock anywhere, and all the beaches are natural and clean, home to transient birds of all types and rich with coastal fish.
