Davis Mountains
As one travels west on I-10 or I-20, out of the vast desert, on the horizon, slowly rises the purple mass of the Davis Mountains, the largest mountain chain entirely within Texas. Rising above the Chihuahuan desert, the mild climate and volcanic soils support one of the most biologically diverse selections of mountain flora and fauna.

Del Rio Population: 35000
An undiscovered gem among Texas border towns, Del Rio features tree-lined streets and beautiful architecture. Tournament-quality fishing, birdwatching and prehistoric petroglyphs are just a few of the reasons people are drawn to Del Rio. It's becoming more popular as a destination for Winter Texans.

Lake Amistad
Amistad is an international recreation area on the U.S.-Mexico border. The Amistad Reservoir, at the confluence of the Rio Grande, Devils and Pecos rivers, has 850 miles of lake shoreline, 540 of which are in Texas. Year round boating, houseboating and water sports are predominant on the U.S. side.
