Austin Population: 660,000
  Austin is the capital of Texas and home to numerous colleges, making Austin an eclectic mix of history, politics and a trendy university atmosphere. Downtown Austin has old, stately buildings with grand architecture; some of which house the hippest clubs in the city. The distinctive State Capitol Building is the largest in the U.S.
     
Corpus Christi Population: 280,000
  With over 113 miles of Gulf Coast beaches and bay, the Corpus Christi area is well known for surf and fun. Water activities range from building sand castles and fishing to extreme water sports. Kiteboarding and wind surfing are enhanced by the almost constant winds and relatively calm waters; it's one of the top 10 windsurfing spots in the world.
     
Hill Country
  The picturesque Hill Country of Texas is made up of roughly 14 towns. Rolling hills and valleys mark the landscape, with many, many trees along the rivers and lakes.   Known as the "Gateway to Mexico," Laredo is on the banks of the Rio Grande River, across from its sister town of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. Like many Texas border towns, it's a blend of Mexico and Texas cultures. You can park at the International Bridge and walk across to Mexico to enjoy the exciting sights and sounds of shopping and dining.
     
San Angelo Population: 90,000
  Near the geographical center of Texas, San Angelo has a charming downtown featuring beautiful gardens and the river walk plaza area along the Concho River. San Angelo is between two lakes, OC Fisher and Nasworthy and there are all types of water recreation and fishing available.
